My background

Before I got into security work, I worked in a business environment in sales, marketing and management. I spent more than 5 years training and competing in MMA (Mixed martial arts) at amateur level. I cross trained Muay Thai, Boxing and wrestling and specialised in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.  

This lead to being referred for a security management position for an organisation that protects communities. It was there that I was given training in firearms, Krav Maga and security. My focus for 5 years was managing the security solution for private schools and houses of worship.

I then switched to aviation security, where I’ve worked for an ” at risk” govt  for the past two years. I have done security work in Johannesburg, Kigali, Zanzibar, Kilimanjaro, Entebbe,  Seychelles, Tbilisi and Beijing.

While continuing to work in Aviation security, I did my SASSETA CPO certification in order to enhance my skills and to enable me to take opportunities when they arise. 

I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to benefit from some really fantastic training and to gain international experience. I’m a strong believer in continual learning.  

I’m a protector by nature. I’m passionate about security risk mitigation and strive to always be thinking about contingencies and redundancies.
